Sweet twenty-one!! π₯³π
Hello beautiful people!
I was stalking my own instagram account yesterday and saw my 20th birthday highlight. It took me back to possibly the most boring lunch I've ever thrown. When you're in your twenties and think 'party' your mind automatically goes to free booze and music, not fruit juices and well, noise. So after the lunch last year I was kind of worried about what to do for my 21st birthday because truth be told, my idea of a fun party is bring your own booze at home, play songs, switch off the lights, eat pizza and do whatever the hell you want.
I'm a little scared of clubbing. I went to a concert once and something happened....
When you are as short as me, you end up in other people's armpits more than in some handsome guy's arms. Or, tall people elbow your head a lot. Or, you end up in a stampede. I know it's disturbing to read about, but it has actually happened to me.
Anyway, my 21st birthday was so great I don't think anything can beat that. I had the most delicious doughnut in the world and the best waffle with the cutest balloons ever! And, I met some dolphins!!!!
Okay, let's start from the beginning. Hot chocolate. Classic. Always started my day with a hot chocolate. But this time, I was sitting overlooking the most beautiful blue water ever! Then we got on the boat and saw so many dolphins. Apparently dolphins enjoy people watching. We were a lucky group because we saw them in like 10 mins of being on the boat. I wish I was a dolphin. They're cute, slimy and live in water. They've probably met Ariel as well!
Then we went to a beach. If you've had even a single conversation with me this past year, you'd know I had been wanting to go to the beach for so so so long. People often ask me why I love water so much. I guess, because it's peaceful and dynamic at the same time.
I walked quietly. Watched people play some games, watched people get lost as well, watched my tour guide sweat in cold windy weather because he was stressed and watched time go by. As time went by, I realized, I aged another year and there's a lot still in store.
If you're wondering if I had any alcohol on my 21st bday the answer is Yes! I did. We went wine tasting and I got drunk after having only two glasses of wine. Don't judge! I was chugging it on an empty stomach and a lot of cheese. Carl- the untidy German (he calls himself that) was on cheese duty. He had a Swiss knife and kept serving us cheese. I think I'll name him Carl - the cheesy German π§
We reached our hostel and my lovely friends spoiled the shit out of me. It's funny how sometimes strangers end up feeling like family. So even though I was away from family, I was still with family eating the most delicious chocolate donut, Belgium waffle surrounded by the cutest decor, and was also enjoying the fact that some were trying to buy me a Japanese cheesecake. π₯°
So yes, it was a beautifully happy day ❤
